Last week, ASNC welcomed clinicians from around the world to Confirming the Diagnosis of ATTR-CM, the first webinar in this year’s Cardiac Amyloidosis for Community Cardiologists series. Expert faculty delivered a deep dive on how to recognize patients already in your practice who may have ATTR CM and follow guideline based recommendations to provide prompt, accurate diagnoses.
“A key takeaway is that amyloid frequently coexists with atrial fibrillation, aortic stenosis, HFpEF, orthopedic issues, and/or frailty – disease-states we often see in elderly patients,” says Series Co-director David Wolinsky, MD, MASNC. “Our initial tasks are finding these patients, assessing whether amyloidosis could be the underlying condition, and then following the guidelines to arrive at accurate diagnoses.”
Series Continues This Wednesday, June 17, at 5:30 PM (Eastern Time)

Why Treating ATTR-CM Is Complex, a preview of this week’s webinar, State-of-the-Art Treatment in ATTR-CM. To attend upcoming Cardiac Amyloidosis for Community Cardiologists webinars and receive access to last week’s Confirming the Diagnosis of ATTR-CM recording, Register Now.
After identifying and diagnosing ATTR-CM, the next step is tackling treatment decisions, including choosing which amyloid medication to prescribe; reassessing and modifying the patient’s current management plan; and preparing to answer questions that patients and families will ask, such as “Can you make me feel better and live longer?”
“This week’s webinar, State-of-the-Art Treatment in ATTR-CM, will provide an update on currently available amyloid treatments and guide you through managing patients with amyloid – especially elderly patients with amyloid,” Dr. Wolinksy adds. “These patients require a different approach than those who have heart failure without amyloidosis.”
The series will conclude Thursday, June 25, with Advancing Care in ATTR-CM, where expert faculty will brief you on the rapidly evolving landscape of amyloidosis care and what you must know now.
