8 Landmark Studies, All in 1 Can’t-Miss Hour!

A new ASNC2026 session will spotlight 8 landmark studies published in the Journal of Nuclear Cardiology in 2025. The Year in Evidence: Practice-Changing Science from JNC will feature research spanning cardiac sarcoidosis, F-18 flurpiridaz PET, myocardial blood flow, attenuation and motion correction, SPECT MPI, and more.

Meet the Presenters:

Each of the investigators will deliver a 5-minute presentation summarizing their findings and highlighting important implications for nuclear cardiology practice, imaging technology, and patient care:

Maria Alwan, MD, will present The Impact of Attenuation Correction and Prone Positioning on Stress-Only Imaging in Cardiac SPECT: An Observational Study.

Giovane L. Azevedo, BSc, will present Comparison of PET-CT and CZT-SPECT on Myocardial Blood Flow and Flow Reserve Measurement: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

Valerie Builoff, BSc, will present Automatic Motion Correction for Myocardial Blood Flow Estimation Improves Diagnostic Performance for Coronary Artery Disease in ¹⁸F-Flurpiridaz Positron Emission Tomography-Myocardial Perfusion Imaging.

Waseem Hijazi, MD, will present Association of Medical Therapies with Survival According to SPECT MPI Findings.

Fabien Hyafil, MD, PhD, will present Assessment of Sestamibi CZT-SPECT Reconstructed Using Deep-Learning-Based Virtual Attenuation Correction Maps According to Coronary Artery Territory and with Comparison to Rubidium-PET.

Krishna Patel, MD, MS, FASNC, will present Prognostic Value of Transient Ischemic Dilation on Rubidium-82 Positron Emission Tomography Myocardial Perfusion Imaging.

Chaitanya Rojulpote, MD, will present Assessing the Effect of Repeat Positron Emission Tomography Imaging on Treatment Response and Cardiovascular Outcomes Among a Homogenously Treated Cohort of Patients with Suspected Cardiac Sarcoidosis.

Steven Scherping III, MD, will present The Prevalence and Prognostic Impact of Additive Abnormal Stress Exercise Markers in Patients with Normal Stress Myocardial Perfusion Imaging.

JNC Editor-in-Chief Marcelo F. Di Carli, MD, MASNC, and Senior Associate Editor Mouaz H. Al-Mallah, MD, MSc, MASNC, will moderate this fast-paced session on Thursday, Sept. 17, from 2:45 to 3:45 PM (Pacific Time).

ASNC2026 will be held Sept. 16-19 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Choose in-person or virtual registration.
