The Nuclear Medicine Europe Emergency Response Team (NMEu ERT) expects normal global supply of Mo-99 will be restored the week of Nov. 10, 2024.
In a new update, the NMEu ERT announced that the Petten, Netherlands, high-flux reactor that has been down for repair was successfully restarted on Monday, Nov. 4. During the restart period, a reactor in South Africa has increased production to help offset the impacts of the Mo-99 shortage that has affected some nuclear cardiology labs.
ASNC is continuing to monitor the situation and will keep you informed.
