“By having this tracer and ensuring that we get the best image quality, we can make the physician’s life a bit easier … so they can make confident decisions when reading studies.”

The latest addition to ASNC’s Cardiac PET Launch Kit is a 15-minute video highlighting key considerations for technologists performing F-18 flurpiridaz PET studies. “Success depends on good patient preparation, precise injection, timing, quality acquisition, and vigilant monitoring,” emphasizes Sandra L. Escobar, CNMT, ARRT (N)(CT). She guides learners, step by step, through –
- Patient preparation;
- Technical considerations, including a critical timing requirement for dose administration;
- Imaging set-up; and
- Pharmacologic and exercise stress protocols.
This knowledge, says Ms. Escobar, will help technologists “anticipate issues” and “deliver the highest quality data” to physicians. Watch the video.
ASNC members have unlimited access to the Cardiac PET Launch Kit. Ms. Escobar’s presentation is included under How-To Videos in the Education & Training tab. Also check out the chapters covering Why Cardiac PET?, Technical Requirements, Interpretation & Reporting, and Billing & Advocacy.
