Advocacy

  • 2023 PET Model Coverage Policy
    • The goal of this document is to simplify the process for payers to provide coverage for appropriate cardiac PET procedures. The document details various indications under eight different categories, and the medical necessity for each indication is justified by the evidence provided. As with the previous 2014 document, this policy will also function as a resource for American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC) members, the cardiology community, referring physicians and patients in relation to the correct ICD-10 codes for the clinical indication. This PET model coverage policy serves as a scientific and literature-based guide for payers on how the clinical indications and ICD-10 codes interface with the Appropriate Use Criteria.
