Congress’s failure to pass the remaining 6 fiscal year 2026 spending bills, including for the Department of Health and Human Services, ahead of the Jan. 30 continuing resolution deadline has triggered a partial federal government shutdown. The spending package is the vehicle for extending Medicare telehealth flexibilities, which expired Jan. 30.
It is expected the funding lapse will be resolved quickly. ASNC is closely monitoring developments and, at this time, is advising members to hold all Medicare claims for telehealth services furnished after Jan. 30. For updates, stay tuned to ASNC.
