Friday, Sept. 5

Title: Health Disparities in hATTR
This session explores the health disparities associated with hereditary transthyretin amyloidosis (hATTR), a rare genetic condition characterized by the abnormal deposition of amyloid protein in various organs and tissues. We will delve into the epidemiology of hATTR, highlighting how genetic predispositions, geographic distribution, and socioeconomic factors contribute to disparities in diagnosis and treatment access.

Speaker: Saurabh Malhotra, MD, MPH, FASNC

Title: From Discordance to Diagnostic Cohesion: Demystifying CAD with Coronary Flow Capacity
Description: In this talk we will review the challenges of accurately assessing obstructive coronary artery disease and appropriate risk determination by reviewing the principles behind coronary perfusion as it applies to microvascular and epicardial coronary disease and how this is assessed using current assessment modalities; functional testing, perfusion testing, angiography, invasive hemodynamic assessments, and myocardial blood flow assessment, with a special focus on coronary flow capacity and recent innovations in evaluating subendocardial ischemia.

Speaker: Sergey Kachur, MD, FACC

3:45 PM – 4:45 PM
Cases Over Cocktails and Cookies

Join Bracco Diagnostics, GE HealthCare, and Jubilant Radiopharma during the Friday afternoon break for a series of engaging case presentations, all while savoring signature cocktails and cookies. Relax, learn, and connect in this informative break session.

Cases Over Cocktails
  • Bracco Diagnostics
Surgery Averted: The Case of the False Positive Angiogram

Explore a compelling case of significant visual disease and how cardiac PET and coronary flow capacity helped avoid inappropriate surgical intervention.

Speaker: Dr. Robert Bober, Nuclear Cardiologist at Sutter East Bay Medical Group, Oakland, CA
Signature cocktail: “The Gould Standard” – Gin Mango Refresher (mocktail version available)

  • GE HealthCareGE HealthCare Logo
Seeing More, Reaching Further: The Future of Cardiac PET

Join Dr. Mouaz Al-Mallah as he shares clinical cases that demonstrate how cardiac PET imaging with an F-18 radiotracer supports accurate diagnosis and risk assessment. He will also discuss how the practical advantages of F-18 are helping make advanced cardiac imaging accessible to a broader range of patients.

Speaker: Mouaz H. Al-Mallah, MD, MSc, MASNC
Signature cookie: Sugar Cookie

Explore the role of cardiac PET in the evaluation of myocardial disease, appreciate the differences and benefits of cardiac PET versus cardiac SPECT imaging, and understand the use of PET with Rb-82 through various patient case studies.

Speaker: Dr. Gary Small, University of Ottawa Heart Institute
Signature cocktail: “RUBY Royale” – Champagne and Crème de Cassis

Cardiac Amyloidosis in Focus: Nuclear Imaging Insights and Treatment Strategies
Transthyretin Cardiac Amyloidosis (or ATTR-CM) is a serious, underrecognized and underdiagnosed cause of heart failure. Join us to help raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of ATTR-CM and the role of Nuclear Imaging in confirming ATTR-CM. Through patient case study and expert perspectives, this program will explore the patient journey for ATTR-CM, including sharing long-term extension data and published findings from a real-world study for treatment options.

Speaker: Vasvi Singh, MD, FASNC, FSCCT, FACC

Sunday, Sept. 7

6:45 AM - 8:15 AM
CME Breakfast Symposium: The Evolving Landscape of ATTR Cardiomyopathy

Led by Program Chair Prem Soman, MD, PhD, MASNC, this session will show you how to enhance early disease detection; highlight advances in noninvasive imaging that minimize missed, inaccurate, and delayed diagnoses; examine how new and emerging therapies impact therapeutic decision-making and understand knowledge gaps in TTR amyloidosis.

This session is supported by an unrestricted educational grant from BridgeBio.

These sessions are not part of the official ASNC2025 Annual Scientific Session as planned by the Program Committee.
