International Resources
Welcome to the ASNC International Resources section. Here you will find information about international memberships in ASNC for physicians, scientists, and technologists. ASNC has translated guidelines and appropriate use criteria posters into Chinese and Spanish and we collaborate with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to provide webinars in Arabic, Chinese, French and Spanish that are complimentary to all registrants.
News
ASNC participated in the Latin American Society of Nuclear Imaging and Biology (ALASBIMN2019), November 13-16. President Rob Beanlands, MD, FASNC presented sessions about “Cardiac Sarcoidosis: When to Suspect, How to Diagnose” and “Imaging in Heart Failure: Viability and Beyond; Focus on Advance Imaging.”ASNC also presented awards to the three best nuclear cardiology abstracts covering different aspects in the field.
- Dr. Verónica Vanesa Gómez Leiva won the ASNC Award for Best Abstract on the topic of “Effective radiation dose from myocardial perfusion studies in a high specialization center in Mexico.”
- Dr. Natalia Covarrubias Dragojevic won 2nd place on the topic of Seventeen-year experience with 124 pediatric patients submitted for MPS-MIBI in Chile. General aspects of myocardial perfusion studies with Tc-99m MIBI (MPS-MIBI) in a pediatric population.
- Dr. Isabel Berrocal Gamboa won 3rd place on the topic of "Economic operational factors affecting the cost of exercise myocardial perfusion studies with a dedicated camera".
The ALASBIMN2019 conference organizing committee appreciates ASNC’s ongoing support of this important nuclear medicine conference.

ReferWisely - Appropriate Use Criteria
Refer Wisely™ is a joint initiative of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology and the American College of Physicians to provide education regarding the Appropriate Use of Diagnostic Imaging with a specific focus on the appropriate use of myocardial perfusion imaging. The goal of the Refer Wisely program is to assist physicians in making wise referral decisions. Go to the ReferWisely main page to view the case compendium.Appropriate Use Poster
Developed by Dr. David Winchester and edited by Dr. Andria Medina this poster provides an easy-to-use reference on the Appropriate Use Criteria in the management and testing of ischemic heart disease. The poster is a 11”x17” downloadable pdf.
