Education

ASNC is proud to have received the
highest level of recognition Accreditation with Commendation by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through July 31, 2029.

ASNC’s educational programming is at the core of our Society’s mission to foster the provision of optimal nuclear cardiology services. ASNC’s continuing education activities serve to maintain, develop, and increase the knowledge, skills, and professional performance nuclear cardiology professionals use every day.

ASNC offers a variety of courses, meetings/programs, and products to meet the needs of our members and other professionals in the field. Each of the Society’s education activities is planned and developed with oversight and input from ASNC’s Education Committee. Many of our educational activities offer Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit and Continuing Education (CE) credit.

Documenting Your Facility’s Commitment to Quality and Safety through the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC)

IAC accreditation provides facilities with a pathway to demonstrate quality to insurance carriers, referring physicians and patients. The IAC programs for accreditation are dedicated to quality improvement and patient safety and all support one common company mission: Improving health care through accreditation®.

ASNC is a sponsoring organization of both IAC Nuclear/PET and IAC CT, providing board representation to ensure that The Standards and the overall accreditation processes are accurate and reflective of the field of nuclear cardiology.

IAC utilizes a rigorous clinical peer review process to ensure that quality and safe practices are established for improved patient outcomes. The process seeks to advance appropriate utilization, standardization and quality of diagnostic imaging, interventional and therapeutic procedures.

As the only CMS-approved accrediting body that provides a clinical peer review of case studies (with pathology) for diagnostic quality, report accuracy and report completeness, IAC provides the most comprehensive review process in the accreditation industry.
