Standing Room Only at ASNC AUC Session at ACP Annual Meeting

Last week, more than 285 physicians who were in Washington, DC, to attend the American College of Physicians (ACP) 2016 Internal Medicine Meeting flocked to a special satellite session hosted by ASNC. The draw, said attendees, was the topic: Appropriate Use in Nuclear Cardiology. ASNC faculty—James E. Udelson, MD, MASNC, Brian Abbott, MD, FASNC, and Allen J. Taylor, MD—demonstrated how new legislative mandates will impact use of cardiac imaging and how such tests are reimbursed in the United States. The session also highlighted everyday cases to help internists understand the appropriate use of nuclear cardiac testing. ASNC's goal is help improve the rate of appropriate referrals.

A full house of internists attended ASNC's first satellite session at the ACP Internal Medicine Meeting in Washington, DC.

This session signals the beginning of new connections and communications between ASNC and ACP, both of whom are committed to helping their members choose the right test for the right patient at the right time. Materials from the ASNC session will soon be available; stay tuned for details.

The session was supported by an educational grant from Astellas Pharma Global Development, Inc.
