ASNC-ACC-Radiopharms-Tariff-Letter_05-07-2025
ASNC and the American College of Cardiology submitted comments on a U.S. Department of Commerce investigation into the possible effects on national security of importing pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical ingredients. The organizations’ comments explain the role of radiopharmaceuticals in cardiovascular care as well as why the lack of a domestic manufacturer of molybdenum-99 makes the U.S. reliant on foreign suppliers. ASNC and ACC urged the Administration to defer possible tariffs at least until a domestic source of radiopharmaceuticals is established.
