• Year 2 (2027–2028): Chair, ASNC2028

Overview

The American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC) invites applications for the position of Vice Chair for the Annual Scientific Session. This leadership role offers a unique opportunity to shape the premier educational event in nuclear cardiology and collaborate with a dynamic, multidisciplinary planning team.

The Vice Chair will work closely with the Program Chair and Track Chairs, to ensure a cohesive, innovative, and inclusive program that reflects the Society’s mission and educational priorities.

The Vice Chair automatically transitions into the role of Program Chair the following year.

Key Responsibilities

As Vice Chair, you will:

• Serve as the principal support to the Program Chair in executing the strategic and educational vision for the meeting.
• Work collaboratively with Track Chairs to develop high-quality session content aligned with ASNC’s mission and goals for the meeting.
• Ensure that sessions across all tracks align with the broader scientific program and overarching annual meeting theme.
• Promote interdisciplinary collaboration and encourage innovative sessions with partnering societies.
• Support the quality control of scientific content, including reviewing abstracts and program submissions.
• Serve as a liaison to key stakeholders in the planning process including faculty, Track Chairs, industry partners, and ASNC staff.
• Participate in regular planning calls and committee meetings.
• Assume leadership as Program Chair for the subsequent year’s annual meeting.

Eligibility & Qualifications

• FASNC or MASNC designation, which also requires an active ASNC membership.
• Demonstrated involvement in ASNC activities (e.g., speaker, abstract reviewer, committee member).
• Experience in program development, academic meeting planning, or educational leadership preferred.
• Strong commitment to advancing nuclear cardiology education, innovation, and inclusivity.
• Ability to collaborate effectively and meet planning deadlines.

To ensure leadership development opportunities for new voices, individuals who have previously served as Annual Scientific Session Program Chair or an ASNC President are not eligible for this role as well as current Executive Council Members.

Time Commitment

• Estimated 3–6 hours/month, with increased involvement as the meeting date approaches.
• Attend ASNC2026
• Attend ASNC2027 as Program Vice Chair
• Attend ASNC2028 as Program Chair
