ASNC Partnerships
ASNC works toward innovative changes by creating partnerships and alliances in an ongoing effort to promote responsible and appropriate imaging within the medical community. ASNC is committed to creating a unified, inclusive community of research, innovation, and education.
Alliance for Quality Medical Imaging & Radiation Therapy
ASNC joined the Alliance for Quality Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy, a coalition of more than 25 health care organizations committed to the high quality, patient-centric diagnostic imaging services. The Alliance is an outspoken proponent of the Consistency, Accuracy, Responsibility, and Excellence (CARE) in Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy bill that has been introduced in both chambers of Congress.
ASNC has a longstanding commitment to patient and provider education, as well as the development of standards to ensure high quality imaging. Therefore, ASNC is pleased to join the Alliance for Quality Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy. While ASNC has engaged in numerous advocacy efforts pertaining to the CARE bill, membership in the Alliance will promote coordination as we seek passage of this important legislation.
Obesity Action
ASNC joined the Obesity Action Coalition to raise awareness that obesity is a serious medical condition. As part of a group of 45 organizations standing with the Obesity Action Coalition, ASNC encourages people to contact their legislators to address weight, specifically obesity, as a matter of health. Excess weight is a contributing factor to a number of health issues and more than 93 million Americans are currently affected by obesity, with that number expected to rise over time. ASNC supports the Coalition’s efforts to treat obesity with the respect, urgency, and action it deserves.
To contact your legislator, visit the OAC Legislative Action Center. Please ask Congress to address weight as a matter of health. Hypertension, heart disease, and vascular disease are all associated with obesity. The OAC maintains that care should not be seen as having the goal of reducing body weight but should additionally be focused on improving overall health and quality of life.
