Description:
With the advent of effective treatment options for cardiac amyloidosis, identifying underlying disease pathogenesis is critical. Multimodality imaging, including echocardiography, magnetic resonance imaging and nuclear scintigraphy, play a crucial role in getting to the diagnosis of cardiac amyloidosis. Understanding the appropriate use and potential shortcomings of each of these modalities is vital to treatment planning and prognosis. Maintaining a high-level of suspicion for both cardiac and noncardiac symptoms will improve patient outcomes.

This program will explore the most current information and best practices for the use of multiple imaging modalities and the importance and interpretation of laboratory testing in diagnosing cardiac amyloidosis. Participants will come away with key tips and tricks for accurate patient assessment.

Leading experts from the New York City area, in addition to the four co-chairs, will provide participants with a comprehensive look at getting to important diagnoses.

Program Co-chairs:
Lawrence Phillips, MD, FASNC – NYU Langone Health
Andrew Einstein, MD, PhD, MASNC – New York Presbyterian Hospital
Krishna Patel, MD – Mount Sinai Health System
Leslee Shaw, PhD, MASNC – Mount Sinai Health System
