Alert: PYP Supply Interruption Update

Last week, ASNC alerted members that an interruption in the supply of the imaging agent 99mtechnetium-pyrophosphate (PYP) is expected to take place for several weeks beginning March 1, 2022. The shortage of PYP was first reported by Sun Radiopharma in early February due to supply chain concerns.

Reactor Update: Mo-99 Supply Returning to Normal

Over the past weeks, ASNC has kept members apprised on an unplanned shutdown of the high flux reactor (HFR) in Petten, Netherlands, that resulted in Mo-99 supply challenges. This week, the Nuclear Medicine Europe (NMEu) Emergency Response Team announced a solution for restoring the HFR’s cooling function had been selected and was pending approval by the Dutch nuclear safety authority.

ASNC Alert: Following Netherlands Reactor Shutdown, Mo-99 Supply Issues Are Resolving

A solution for restoring function to the high flux reactor (HFR) in Petten, Netherlands, has been identified, according to the Nuclear Medicine Europe (NMEu) Emergency Response Team.

Reactor Update: Mo-99 Supply Issues Persist Following HFR Shutdown

On Thursday, January 27, ASNC alerted members about an unplanned shutdown of the high flux reactor (HFR) in Petten, Netherlands, due to a water leak in a cooling system. At that time, the Nuclear Medicine Europe Emergency Response Team (NMEu ERT) expected the shutdown would cause Mo-99 shipment delays into this week. New NMEu reporting indicates the HFR reactor did not resume operations as planned, and options for restoring functionality are being considered.
