Agenda

CT Angiography for the Cardiologist
May 9 – 10, 2008
Chicago, IL
Hyatt Regency O'Hare

Objectives

The primary objectives of the CT Angiography for the Cardiologist course are to enable participants to:

  • Evaluate what cardiac CT can do now and what it is expected to do in the near future
  • Develop and improve cardiac and peripheral CT interpretation skills
  • Discuss how CT can be incorporated into emergency room care algorithms
  • Debate key issues in CT such as the type of scanner required, interpreting non-cardiac structures, and CT in the emergency room
  • Interact with the top researchers and practitioners in the field
  • Review challenging CT cases
  • Evaluate where CT fits into the coronary artery disease diagnostic algorithm
  • Interpret non-cardiac structures and discuss over-reading options
  • Discuss the expanding indications for coronary calcium testing and how to interpret and score the images
  • Discuss how CT can facilitate biventricular pacemaker placement, atrial fibrillation ablation, pre-percutaneous coronary intervention, and pre-cardiac surgery planning
  • Determine if his/her practice is ready for cardiac CT
  • Discuss payment and credentialing for CT
  • Discuss when physicians should perform cardiac and peripheral CT studies on their patients
