Nuclear Cardiology Foundation Research Award Program

The Nuclear Cardiology Foundation Research Award program intends to help individuals initiate a career in nuclear cardiology research or develop a research program early in their academic careers.  Awards are meant to support research training in basic scientific research and clinical/translational research in nuclear cardiology and its related fields such as cardiac molecular imaging, cardiovascular computed tomography (CVCT), cardiac PET, cardiac CT, or PET/CT.

The Nuclear Cardiology Foundation will fund three (3) awards for amounts up to $30,000 each for one year. All applications must have appropriate institutional regulatory approvals (Human Investigation Committee (HIC), Animal Studies (IACUC), etc.) before funds may be released.

The 2009 Research Award application period is now closed.

Congratulations to the 2008 Research Award Winners!

Due Dates and Review Process
Applications must be submitted for review by 4:00 p.m. ET on March 27, 2009. Awards will be announced by May 1, 2009, and the grants will be awarded on July 1, 2009.  All applications will be reviewed by the Research Grants Committee on the quality and potential of the applicant and mentor, research environment, scientific merit, originality, relevance of the work to nuclear cardiology and relevant fields, the potential for the project to generate data for a successful peer-reviewed grant application, and the potential for the Principal Investigator to develop into an independent investigator.
