Target Audience
This course is designed for technologists performing nuclear cardiology in both private practice and hospital settings. It also will help those technologists preparing for the Nuclear Cardiology Technology exam.
Objectives
At the end of this course, the participants will be able to:
- Distinguish between the various cardiac protocols and develop acquisition parameters for one's own lab
- Discuss cardiovascular disease in detail and how it relates to patient management decisions
- Interpret basic ECG rhythms
- Recognize artifacts and potential processing problems
- Outline the future of nuclear cardiology and the role of the technologist
- Apply radiation safety parameters in accordance with national/state regulations
- Discuss the importance of quality assurance programs
CE Credit
This course has been approved by ASNC and is accepted by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board for 12.75 ARRT Category A credits.
