Purpose
The purpose of this program is to assist cardiologists in preparing for the technical sections of board examinations in nuclear cardiology.
This program is intended to serve as an exam preparation tool. It does not offer extensive training or certification in the field of nuclear cardiology.
Target Audience
This program is designed for practitioners who are performing nuclear imaging studies and want to refresh their physics knowledge for (re)certification or general practice improvement.
Objectives
The primary objectives of the Nuclear Cardiology Physics and Fundamentals program are to enable participants to:
- Appraise knowledge of physics fundamentals associated with nuclear cardiology
- Explain production of radioactive materials
- Describe physics principles used in nuclear cardiology
- Cite various radiation safety procedures
- Discuss acquisition and processing principles in nuclear cardiology

Accreditation
The American Society of Nuclear Cardiology is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
CME Credit
The American Society of Nuclear Cardiology designates this educational activity for a maximum of 17 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Course Materials
ASNC is pleased to provide online electronic access to all syllabus materials at no additional charge to attendees. This full-size, full-color set of slides is available for your review approximately two weeks prior to the course. All registered attendees will receive an e-mail with instructions on how to access the syllabus. Attendees may download the syllabus prior to the course and are encouraged to bring their laptop in order to access the syllabus during the course. If an attendee prefers a printed syllabus, they can print it from the online version or pre-order one from ASNC for an additional fee. Each participant is asked to select their syllabus preference during the registration process. Pre-ordered syllabi will be available for pick-up on site.
- Electronic Syllabus Only ($0): Attendees who select the electronic syllabus option will be responsible for downloading the presentations or printing the presentations prior to the course. ASNC will not provide printed syllabi to attendees unless the printed option was selected during registration.
- Black-and-White Printed Syllabus Plus Electronic Syllabus ($50) - Attendees who choose to purchase a printed syllabus also have access to the electronic syllabus. The syllabus will consist of two black-and-white slides per page.
- Color Printed Syllabus Plus Electronic Syllabus ($200) - Attendees who choose to purchase a printed syllabus also have access to the electronic syllabus. The syllabus will consist of two color slides per page.
Registration Fees
Payment must accompany your registration, and you will receive a confirmation e-mail within two weeks. The registration fee includes online electronic syllabus, meals, and refreshments.

Cancellation Policy
Registration cancellations received by September 1, 2011 will be eligible for a full refund less a $50 administrative fee. Between September 2 and September 16, a $75 administrative fee will apply. No refunds will be given for no-shows. In the unlikely event that the program is cancelled, the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology will refund the registration fee, in full, but is not responsible for any hotel or travel costs you may incur.
