Purpose

The purpose of this program is to provide a better understanding of nuclear cardiology.  The program does not offer extensive training or certification in the field.

All cardiology, nuclear medicine, and radiology Fellows/Residents are encouraged to attend this one-day complimentary program.

Objectives

The primary objectives of Nuclear Cardiology: Overview and Update are to enable participants to:

  • Employ optimal methodology to acquire, process, interpret, and report nuclear cardiology studies
  • Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of new protocols and imaging technologies and how to incorporate these into clinical practice
  • Review and improve interpretation skills in standard and emerging technologies in nuclear cardiology
  • Recognize how to utilize clinical guidelines to enhance performance, document compliance, and improve clinical management
  • Analyze and update the basic physiological approach to stress testing and perfusion imaging
  • Review the role of radionuclide myocardial perfusion imaging for the diagnosis of coronary artery disease

Accreditation

The American Society of Nuclear Cardiology is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

CME Credit

The American Society of Nuclear Cardiology designates this educational activity for a maximum of 5.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.  Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Registration Fee

This program is offered at no cost.  As space is limited, advanced registration is strongly recommended.  On-site registrations will be accepted, if available.
