ASNC Co-Signs Letter to CMS on Electronic Health Record Incentive Program
May 3, 2010
ASNC recently joined 53 medical organizations in authoring a joint letter to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) outlining key concerns with the proposed rule on the meaningful use electronic health record (EHR) incentive program. The CMS program aims to encourage widespread adoption of EHRs, which ASNC supports, but includes several problematic provisions. The joint letter calls for greater flexibility and time to achieve meaningful use of EHRs, less burdensome reporting requirements, and more administrative details from CMS on how this program will be implemented and evaluated.
