Nuclear Cardiology Foundation Research Award Program
Who Is Eligible?
- Fellows-in-training who will have independent faculty positions at the time of completion of the Research Award grant
- Junior faculty at the Instructor or Assistant Professor level
- Post-doctoral fellows who intend to pursue an academic career in nuclear cardiology
Applicants must hold a PhD, MD, or equivalent degree.
Due Dates and Review Process
All applications will be reviewed by the Research Grants Committee for scientific merit, originality, relevance of the work to nuclear cardiology and relevant fields, the potential for the project to generate data for a successful peer-reviewed grant application, and the potential for the Principal Investigator to develop into an independent investigator.
Awards
The Nuclear Cardiology Foundation will fund awards for amounts up to $30,000 each for one year.
Terms of Awards
Grantees must submit to the Nuclear Cardiology Foundation Research Grants Committee a brief progress report describing the results of their work as well as related publications and funding. All publications should acknowledge the Nuclear Cardiology Foundation Research Award Program.
It is expected that the Grantee will use the full amount of funding awarded during the one-year term of the award. All unexpended funds at the end of the term will be returned to the Nuclear Cardiology Foundation. Extensions or changes to the terms of the award (length of funding period and budget) will only be made in exceptional circumstances.
The Grantee is expected to present a brief poster of their research and findings at the ASNC Annual Scientific Session in 2011.
