Nuclear Cardiology Foundation Research Award Program
The Nuclear Cardiology Foundation Research Award program intends to help individuals initiate a career in nuclear cardiology research or develop a research program early in their academic careers. Awards are meant to support research training in basic scientific research and clinical/translational research in nuclear cardiology and its related fields such as cardiac molecular imaging, cardiovascular computed tomography (CVCT), cardiac PET, cardiac CT, or PET/CT.
The Nuclear Cardiology Foundation will fund three (3) one-year awards to junior faculty or postdoctoral fellows in the amount of $30,000.
Due Dates and Review Process The application period for the 2008 Research Awards is now closed. Awards will be announced by June 16, 2008, and the grants will be awarded on July 1, 2008. All applications will be reviewed by the Research Grants Committee on the quality and potential of the applicant and mentor, research environment, scientific merit, originality, relevance of the work to nuclear cardiology and relevant fields, the potential for the project to generate data for a successful peer-reviewed grant application, and the potential for the Principal Investigator to develop into an independent investigator.
