ASNC Works to Bring Awareness to Issues Surrounding MPPR Policy

ASNC, both independently and through the Coalition for Patient Centered Imaging, identified Capitol Hill sponsors willing to draft a “Dear Colleague” letter to CMS outlining key objections to the Multiple Procedure Payment Reduction (MPPR) policy.  Representative Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) and Representative John Barrow (D-GA) drafted a letter to CMS Acting Administrator Marilyn Tavenner and circulated it among their colleagues on Capitol Hill in an effort to garner more signatories.  When the sign-on period ended on October 12, 2012, 60 signatures of support had been collected.

Thank you to all members who contacted your representatives and urged them to sign the Blackburn/Barrow letter.  ASNC urges you to meet with your representative in their district office during the current congressional recess.  If you need assistance, please contact Andrew McKinley, ASNC Associate Director of Health Policy, at (301) 215-7575 or amckinley@asnc.org.

We can’t thank you enough for your dedication to advocating for the profession and the advancement of patient-centered care.
