The purpose of this program is to prepare participants for the certification and re-certification exam in nuclear cardiology. It increases learners’ knowledge and competence to treat patients with the appropriate cardiac nuclear imaging procedures.
As a result of participating in this activity learners will be able to:
- Appraise knowledge of physics and instrumentation associated with nuclear imaging
- Explain image acquisition and processing, including artifacts
- Describe risk stratification
- Integrate radiation safety standards into professional practice
- Discuss the use of nuclear imaging in assessment viability
- Interpret perfusion images, including PET and ventricular function imaging
- Utilize perfusion imaging in the assessment, diagnosis and response to therapy in CAD patients and special populations
This course is designed for physicians preparing for the certification or recertification exam in nuclear cardiology as well as physicians interested in a broad review in nuclear cardiology topics.
Accreditation and Continuing Education Credit:
CME/Physicians: The American Society of Nuclear Cardiology is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit for physicians. ASNC designates this live activity for a maximum of 19.25 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. While offering the CME credits noted above, this program is not intended to provide extensive training or certification in the field.

Nuclear Cardiology Board Exam Dates: December 2-7, 2013
Registration cancellations received by July 5 will be eligible for a full refund less a $50 administrative fee. No refunds will be made after July 5, 2013. No refunds will be given for no-shows. In the unlikely event that the program is canceled, ASNC will refund the registration fee in full, but is not responsible for any hotel or travel costs you may incur.
