New Video for Referring Physicians Helps Prepare for Imaging AUC

Internal medicine and primary care providers who refer patients for nuclear cardiology imaging studies now have a free educational resource to help them apply today's multimodality appropriate use criteria (AUC) in daily practice. Initially offered as a satellite symposium at the American College of Physicians Internal Medicine Meeting in May, “Appropriate Use of Nuclear Cardiology in Clinical Practice: Strategies for Implementation” received such high marks from the hundreds of physicians who attended the session that ASNC teamed up with Medpage Today to deliver the same topic as a free video program.
The video features James E. Udelson, MD, MASNC, Brian Abbott, MD, FASNC, and Allen J. Taylor, MD, presenting a series of cases that demonstrate optimal diagnostic decision making and risk stratification. In other words, real-world, how-to education for recommending the right test, for the right patient, at the right time. The ASNC faculty also explain the legislative mandate that soon will require physicians to use AUC whenever they order an advanced imaging test for Medicare patients as well as how the law could impact documentation processes and reimbursement.

ASNC invites you to watch the video yourself and share it with your referring colleagues. Go to Medpage Today and enter your free password.
