Dr. Raymond Russell, III, to Be Inducted as ASNC's 24th President
On Jan. 1, 2017, Raymond Russell, III, MD, PhD, FASNC
, will be installed as ASNC’s 2017 president. Dr. Russell is associate professor of medicine at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Providence, RI. He is program director of the cardiology fellowship at Brown as well as the director of both Nuclear Cardiology and Cardio-Oncology for the Cardiovascular Institute of Lifespan, which includes Rhode Island Hospital, The Miriam Hospital and Newport Hospital. He is active in the clinical and educational missions of the Cardiovascular Institute.

CMS releases 2017 Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) Final Rule
On November 1, 2016 the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services released the 2017 OPPS Final Rule. The OPPS fee schedule increase factor for CY 2017 is 1.65%.

2017 Fee Schedule Released: CMS Finalizes Major Components of AUC Program
November 2, 2017, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) issued its final 2017 payment policies and payment rates for services furnished under the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (PFS). Payment rates and policies set forth in these rules are effective Jan. 1, 2017.
