Course Description

Authorized user status is required for all board certified nuclear cardiologists. The requirements for authorized user status are set by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. As of 2009, the NRC requirements have been standardized throughout the United States and now require 700 hours of training, including 80 hours of classroom/laboratory training. The ASNC course will fulfill this 80-hour requirement.

Each course will contain two 40-hour parts. The total 80-hour requirement, Part 1 and Part 2, may be taken concurrently in the same location or half in Newark and half in Kansas City. Both Part 1 and Part 2 must be completed for the 80-hour requirement to be fulfilled, however they do not necessarily need to be completed in order. Part 2 may be completed before Part 1.
