Purpose
The purpose of this program is to serve as an overview of the methods and techniques that may be used to optimize image quality and overall efficiency of the nuclear cardiology laboratory.
Target Audience
This course is designed for technologists performing nuclear cardiology in both private practice and hospital settings.
Program Objectives
The primary objectives of this course are to enable participants to:
- Distinguish between the various cardiac protocols and develop acquisition parameters for one’s own lab
- Interpret basic ECG rhythms
- Recognize artifacts and potential processing problems
- Understand basic interpretation of perfusion images
- Discuss the importance of quality assurance programs
Continuing Education Credit
The American Society of Nuclear Cardiology is a recognized provider of continuing education credit for technologists. ASNC’s Continuing Education (ACE) credit is accepted by the NMTCB and ARRT.
This course has been approved for a maximum of 15.5 ACE credits for technologists.

Course Materials
ASNC is pleased to provide online electronic access to all syllabus materials at no additional charge to attendees. This full-size, full-color set of slides is available for your review approximately two weeks prior to the course. All registered attendees will receive an e-mail with instructions on how to access the syllabus. Attendees may download the syllabus prior to the course and are encouraged to bring their laptop in order to access the syllabus during the course. If an attendee prefers a printed syllabus, then they can print it from the online version or pre-order one from ASNC for an additional fee. Attendees who choose to purchase a printed syllabus will also have access to the electronic syllabus. Each participant is asked to select their syllabus preference during the registration process. Pre-ordered syllabi will be available for pick-up on site.
- Electronic Syllabus Only ($0): Attendees who select the electronic syllabus option will be responsible for downloading the presentations or printing the presentations prior to the course. ASNC will not provide printed syllabi to attendees unless the printed option was selected during registration.
- Black-and-White Printed Syllabus (Includes Electronic Syllabus) ($30): The syllabus will consist of two black-and-white slides per page.
- Color Printed Syllabus (Includes Electronic Syllabus) ($135): The syllabus will consist of two color slides per page.
Cancellation Policy
Registration cancellations received by July 31, 2012 will be eligible for a full refund less a $50 administrative fee. Between July 31 and August 29, a $75 administrative fee will apply for cancellations. No refunds will be made after August 29, 2012. No refunds will be given for no-shows. In the unlikely event that the program is cancelled, the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology will refund the registration fee, in full, but is not responsible for any hotel or travel costs you may incur.
